Devafuser or Diffuser? Which is better?

There are several ways to dry your natural hair. The most common and less invasive way to dry my hair, is to let air dry. Air drying for me means that there is no heat involved and it is less manipulation. However, air drying my hair is an all day task, and when I am in a hurry it is a major inconvenience. I also like a lot of volume which sometimes is unachieveable for me in the first day. So, in order to speed up the drying process and to have volume I use a diffuser. There are different diffuser to indulge in, but I myself only have used two; the Devafuser from DevaCurl and a regular Diffuser from Revlon.

DEVAFUSER

The Cost?

  • $50

*Disclaimer: I purchased mine almost a year ago from Ulta and used my reward points to cut the cost.

What it claims to do…

  • 360 degree airflow, speedier drying time, perserve moisture, frizz free shiny curls, definition and touchable volume. (Direct from DevaCurl site).

What it really does…

  • Hair has volume and body, no shrinkage, took about 10 minutes to dry. Soft to the touch maintained the curl pattern, somewhat easy to use.

REVLON DIFFUSER

  • Speed up your drying time by 50%, triple ceramic coating, delivers gorgeous volume and shine, finger diffuser defines curls.

  • Hair had volume, somewhat frizzy in the middle, took 10 minutes to complete. Soft curls, kept the curl pattern somewhat despite the frizz.

I did my regular wash routine and used the same products with both diffusers. After seeing the pictures I totally believe that the Devafuser is better investment. My curls had less frizz and I still had the same volume that I would achieve with your average diffuser. Does that mean I’m going to stop using my Revlon diffuser? Absolutely not! I like my diffuser and the results are not that far off from that of a Devafuser.

What is your go to diffuser? What other experiment would you like me to try out for you?

Much Love,

Bri
